Install Java SE Development Kit (JDK)
On your assembly-host and
engine-host(s), while logged in as
root
, download and install Java SE development kit
(JDK), version 8.
You can download the JDK from
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html.
Follow the installation instructions supplied on the Oracle site. When
you have installed it you need to make sure that it is installed as
the default Java installation. You can do this by entering the
following commands while logged in as root
:
#
update-alternatives --install "/usr/bin/java" "java" "java-install-path" 1#
update-alternatives --set java java-install-path
where java-install-path is the path of the
location in which you installed Java (for example,
/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-oracle/jre/bin/java
).
Verify that Java is correctly installed by entering:
#
java -version
This should result in output something like this:
java version "1.8.0_11"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_11-b12)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.11-b03, mixed mode)
