Backwards Compatibility

A primary objective of the Content Store REST API is stability. Changes are only introduced when they are needed either to correct errors or to add new, required functionality. When changes are necessary, every effort is made to ensure backwards compatibility and minimize disruption to users of the API.

For historical reasons, the REST API makes use of URIs containing the domain name of a former owner of CCI Europe, www.vizrt.com. To replace these URIs without compromising backwards compatibility would be both complicated and risky. We consider this to be an unnecessary risk to take for what is essentially a cosmetic issue and will therefore not replace these URIs now or in the future.
